ORIGIN
Trappa MadeIt is an American producer and rapper from Asheville, North Carolina. He’s known mostly for his songs “Fortunate”, “So in love” and “Stormin” featuring Youngboy Never Broke Again and Moneybagg Yo. His discography includes the full-length projects Trappa been trap’N (2013), Tha blackout (2014), and Already Rich (2018). In 2015, Trappa made the producer spotlight of the year from Atlanta’s very own legendary DJ Holiday.
Trappa was born Charles Ray Hill II on November 15, 1987. His mother passed when he was 12. He was raised by his father and stepmother. Growing up, Trappa frequently changed schools. He dropped out of high school before completing a diploma. However, he was able to complete his high school equivalency by going through the Job Corps program.
CAREER
Trappa MadeIt grew up listening to artists like 2 pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, OutKast, T.I., and Young Jeezy among others. He started out playing drums and keyboard in the church at age 14. Two years later he started writing and composing his own music. Later in life during his early to mid-20s, Trappa began performing vocally over his creations. His first mixtape, Trappa Been Trap’N, arrived in 2013. At that point in time, he was going by the stage name of ‘Yung Trappa.’ A second mixtape titled ‘Tha Blackout’ dropped in 2014. By this time, Trappa’s name and image began to circulate not just locally in Western North Carolina but was spilling over into the South Carolina and Georgia areas as well. This led to him producing and engineering for some of hip-hop’s biggest names.
Amid his meteoric rise, Trappa began to invest his earnings into other things besides music. He invested in real estate, the stock market, and CBD brokerage just to name a few. This strategic move allowed him to invest the gains from his entrepreneurship back into his music career – thus pushing his brand even further. Going forward, Trappa rebranded himself to ‘Trappa MadeIt.’ The name change was made official following the release of his mixtape Already Rich (2018).
In 2018, Trappa moved himself and his family to the Atlanta Georgia area. Their home is located in one of the area’s most impressive gated communities. At this point, Trappa decided to pursue music full-time – taking that foot-in-the-door experience as a major stepping stone. He collaborated with Youngboy Never Broke Again and Moneybagg Yo on his most recent song “Stormin.” The track secured placements with huge YouTube personalities, upcoming films, and video games. You can listen to Trappa MadeIt’s work on all major digital platforms, including iHeartRadio and Pandora. He’s currently working on multiple releases for the year 2020.
PERSONAL
Charles Hill, better known today as Trappa MadeIt, was born to parents Lillie Griffith and Charles Hill Sr. On November 15, 1987. He and his sister Kandice grew up in the rough west side of Asheville, North Carolina, in Deaverview apt. After their mother passed, Trappa alongside his father and sister relocated to Columbia South Carolina where his father would then remarry. His new family includes stepmother, Carol, and step-siblings, Celia and Marcus. The family would later move to a town called Clermon outside of Orlando, Florida. At age 17, Trappa became homeless on the streets of Orlando Florida for 2 long devastating years.
After bouncing around from cardboard box/city to city, Trappa somehow ended up back in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina. Still homeless at the time, he decided to put in an application for public housing. Never losing sight of his music and passions, he continued to write and sharpen his skills while using the things around him to motivate his craft. In 2010, Trappa’s Public Housing became available. He moved into the infamous housing complex Pisgah view apartments. Like everyone else in these types of communities, he became accustomed to the life of a street hustler. It wasn’t shortly after that he realized he really had potential and he could be doing so much more.
Trappa immediately cleaned up his act and promptly went back to school. He was able to develop his business skills and money management tactics. In 2013, he made a huge leap towards his dreams and began to chase his passion for music. Trappa funded his own way by becoming a real estate mogul. He’s since branched off into other business ventures. He now has an estimated net worth of just over $2 million USD. His growing wealth was referenced in the lyrics of his 2018 mixtape ‘Already Rich.’ Trappa now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Outside of the recording studio, he loves traveling or spending time watching movies in his stadium-style seated movie theater at home.
