The Effex Is Alive

ORIGIN
The Effex is an R&B/Hip-Hop singer, songwriter, and producer. He’s known for his songs “Unpredictable” and “Lust Love.” Both tracks can be found on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. The Effex was born LaDarius Ezario Martin on February 8th, 2001, in Irving, Texas. He has two younger brothers. Although The Effex wasn’t born in Oklahoma City, he built that connection considering his family members live in Oklahoma. The Effex attended Trinity High School in Euless, Texas, and graduated in 2019. He was smart and could’ve done better academically but he was more focused on his music.

CAREER
The Effex started doing music when he was in the 5th grade. He also started writing his own songs around that time. It wasn’t before long that he would form a local boy band with his friends and brother. Nevertheless, The Effex didn’t start pursuing music seriously until his sophomore year of high school. He released his first song “The Splurge Effect” with Splurge and followed up with two projects. The Effex met Mike T. The Shotta and C.E.D and released their singles “Official” and “One Of a Kind” (2016).

After some time off from the music scene, The Effex returned with his first mixtape, A Summer Trilogy (2017), via SoundCloud. In 2018, he followed up with the single “Me Over Him” which created some buzz and gave him some recognition. His 5-track EP, Teen Love, was released in January 2019. It was led by the catchy track “Lust Love” which brought even more light to his name. Shortly after, The Effex and his aunt, Drem@ Bl!ss, hosted the “February’s Finest Showcase” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to help other artists showcase their talents to their city.

Later in 2019, The Effex released two singles “Unpredictable” and “Xanny Party” leading up to his first album ‘Antares.’ In February 2020, he hosted the annual February’s Finest concert alongside Drem@ Bl!ss. The Effex released his debut album ‘Antares’ in April 2020.

PERSONAL
The Effex is 5’11 tall and he’s a very talented and creative artist. He’s always looking to help other underground artists while pursuing the spotlight altogether. Being deep with his family’s roots, The Effex shows great potential as a rising star and has already drawn comparisons to The Weeknd and Drake. He’s signed to his independent label February’s Finest with hopes to sign into the industry labels and become the pop star he’s set to be.

The Effex is also very unique and versatile. He’s self-taught himself the piano and guitar. In addition to playing multiple instruments, he also produces tracks. The Effex shows great promise as a rising artist. His family tree has deep roots in music – primarily jazz and hip-hop. For instance, his aunt is a recording artist and the two have collaborated in the past. Fun fact, The Effex is related to “Boyz n the hood” actor Cuba Gooding Jr.
