ORIGIN
Tfemi is an American rapper of Nigerian descent. Born Oluwafemi Taiwo on November 15, 1996, in Brooklyn, New York, Tfemi has spent time living in Brooklyn, London, and New Jersey. Tfemi attended both Manor College in Pennsylvania and William Paterson University in New Jersey. It was at William Paterson where Tfemi began to develop his craft as a rapper.
CAREER
While studying at William Paterson in 2016, Tfemi linked up with fellow artists and producers that would help kick-start his career. In 2017, Tfemi released the single “I Wanna” on SoundCloud that garnered the attention of late rapper XXXtentacion, boosting the song to 100k views.
Soon after, Tfemi went on to release his debut mixtape “Never Scared to Lose EP,” featuring local New Jersey acts like J4 and Ray Bentley. As he continued to improve on his early success, Tfemi released mixtapes “Goat Mode” and Hip Hop/RnB mixtape “79 to You” in 2018.
Tfemi’s debut album came in August 2019, titled “Never Scared to Lose 2”. This album featured Tfemi’s hit single and his first song to hit the charts on Apple Music, “Wonderful.” Still performing as an independent artist, Tfemi has yet to sign with a record label.
