StaySolidRocky is a fast-rising American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Richmond, Virginia. He’s currently signed to Columbia Records. StaySolidRocky rose to prominence with the explosive 2019 single “Party Girl” which became a viral phenomenon on TikTok. It peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified Platinum by the RIAA. StaySolidRocky’s growing discography now includes the EP Fallin (2020). He’s already worked with acts like Lil Uzi Vert.

StaySolidRocky was born Darak Figueroa on August 6, 2001, in San Antonio, Texas. He was raised by his mother. Speaking of his mom, she once dabbled in the rap game herself. Next, Figueroa spent roughly two years in South Carolina. He moved to Richmond, Virginia, at around age 15. Figueroa attended high school in Richmond, Virginia. He attended college briefly, studying psychology and later business. Growing up, Figueroa listened to a handful of artists. He started out with acts like Lil Wayne and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Like many before him, StaySolidRocky utilized social media to get his sound out. Platforms like Instagram and SoundCloud showcased his sound and how he matured over time. In October 2016, Rocky released “Mona Lisa” (prod. by DeCicco Beats) featuring Quannie. A second track “Curtains” premiered on SoundCloud in October 2017. The year 2018 welcomed songs “Driftin & Drivin” (prod. by young tago), and “Understand” (prod. by DeeMarc). The latter featured 4RoadKeezy.

In July 2019, Rocky teased his upcoming track “Party Girl” on Instagram. The overwhelming response led to a full release on September 30, 2019, via SoundCloud. It was produced by Nashi. The track now stands at 41+ million SoundCloud spins. The supporting visual for “Party Girl” dropped on December 24, 2019. It has 81 million views and counting. The video was shot and directed by 96Digital. Additionally, the track sparked the popular “Party Girl” challenge on TikTok. Rocky closed out 2019 with the songs “Toxic” and “Blizzy” featuring Cap, Big B, BigBank. His first track of 2020 was titled “Soft Aggression.”

The success of “Party Girl” would eventually catch the attention of Solomon Sobande (known for working with XXXTentacion). The two connected and before long StaySolidRocky was able to secure a recording contract with Columbia Records. His single “Party Girl” was released commercially on April 21 via Columbia. It has since peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Aside from the United States, the song performed well in countries like the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

StaySolidRocky’s 7-track debut EP, Fallin’, dropped in mid-July 2020. In addition to his breakout single, the project includes songs like “Soft Aggression”, “Toxic”, “Vacant Heart” and “Rip N Runnin'” featuring Big4Keezy. The EP’s first track “Party Girl (Remix)” features Lil Uzi Vert. In August 2020, StaySolidRocky appeared on the song “Block” (feat. Trippie Redd) from Internet Money’s compilation album B4 The Storm (2020).
