ORIGIN
Mercocet is an American rapper and singer/songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. He originally broke out with the hit single “Open Your Eyes” at the beginning of 2019, amassing 1.3+ million streams across all platforms. Another popular track “Slatt Science” featuring Ksav Wavy premiered in the Summer of 2019. It was subsequently picked up for article placement with Cole Bennett – the owner of Lyrical Lemonade. Mercocet’s first debut project is yet to be announced. He’s currently being managed by @Go2Kelo, Head of A&R of Gas Media/PBJAMS which is Gas Media record label.

Merc was born Tyler Koehler-Davis on January 7, 1998, In Portage Park, Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in the northside of Chicago suburbs in the Skokie/Evanston area. In 2017, Merc completed his first EP titled ‘Fallen.’ The project was completed during his short time at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Merc was a fan of the late rapper Juice WRLD. As an artist, he’s already performed with acts like KCAMP, A$AP Ferg, Ishdarr, and DJ Chicago among others.

At 16 years old, Mercocet recorded his hit remix to the version of “Watch Out,” a piece originally created by 2 Chainz. The remix quickly gained popularity and received over 1 million streams in under six months of its release. Towards the end of his college career, Merc dropped a second EP titled ‘RISE.’ It features 6 songs, namely “Rise(Intro)”, “Like”, “Droptop”, “Getterdone”, “G18” and “Real Quick.” The project features production from Cashmoney AP, Whyloner, and BlackMayo. Mercocet’s SoundCloud page boasts 7.5 million streams and counting.
