J.I. aka The Prince of New York is an American rapper out of Brooklyn, New York. In 2016, he earned spotlight attention after his rapping skills landed him a role on “The Rap Game” (season 2), a Lifetime’s reality television series, hosted by Jermaine Dupri, which features young artists between the ages of 12 and 16 competing for an opportunity to get signed. Fast Forward to the present, J.I. has become an established young artist and an influential media personality. Some of his most popular songs include “Need Me,” “Blame On Me,” “Company,” and “Own Shit.” He has collaborated with artists like Lil Key and Nova. As of November 2019, J.I. appears to be an independent artist releasing most, if not all, of his music below United Masters, a platform where artists retain rights to their work.

J.I. was born Justin Rivera on September 23, 2001, in Brooklyn, New York. He is of Puerto Rican descent.
