Garrett Clayton is an American film and television actor. His acting credits include Teen Beach Movie, King Cobra, Hairspray Live! and The Fosters. Clayton was born Gary Michael Clayton on March 19, 1991 in Dearborn, Michigan. He grew up in Dearborn Heights where he attended Crestwood High School. Clayton continued his education at Oakland University. He majored in musical theater.

CAREER
Clayton started out as a member of the drama club at Crestwood High School. One of his earliest stage role was that of “Uncle Homer” in a production of Charlotte’s Web. Clayton landed his debut film role in the horror flick, The Tower (2008). He followed up with small role in Magic Mentah (2009), Virginia (2010) and Love, Gloria (2011). His early television appearances included Days of Our Lives, Shake It Up and the television film Holiday Spin (2012).

In 2013, Clayton starred as “Tanner” in the Disney Channel Original ‘Teen Beach Movie’. The film was directed by Jeffrey Hornaday. The role of Tanner was reprised in Teen Beach 2 (2015). Clayton held a recurring role as “Chase” in the ABC drama series, The Fosters (2014-16). He was cast as “Link Larkin” in the NBC special, Hairspray Live! (2016). Clayton starred as “Brent Corrigan” in the crime-drama biopic, King Cobra (2016). The film also stars James Franco, Christian Slater and Alicia Silverstone.
