Eli Apple is a professional football player currently signed to the Cincinnati Bengals. He stands 6ft 1in tall and plays the cornerback position. Apple was born Eli Woodard on August 9, 1995, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was raised by his mother Annie and his stepfather Timothy. He officially changed his name from ‘Eli Woodard’ to ‘Eli Apple’ in 2012. This was done out of respect for his stepfather who helped raised him from he was two years old.

CAREER
Apple attended Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, New Jersey. After graduating in 2013, he enrolled at The Ohio State University. Apple began his college football career as a redshirt freshman in 2014. He played two seasons as a cornerback for the Ohio State Buckeyes before declaring for the 2016 NFL draft. Apple competed and won the Big Ten Championship in 2014 followed by the Sugar Bowl and the CFP National Championships in 2015. He was named defensive MVP of the 2016 Fiesta Bowl.

Apple was selected by the New York Giants with the 10th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He later played for the New Orleans Saints (2018-19) followed by the Carolina Panthers (2020). Apple currently plays for the Cincinnati Bengals.
