ORIGIN
Action Bronson is an American rapper, reality TV star, and chef. He’s worked with Warner Bros. Records, Vice Records, and Empire Distribution among others. His full-length projects include Dr. Lecter (2011), Mr. Wonderful (2015), Mr. Wonderful (2017), and White Bronco (2018). Bronson is also a talk show host, television producer, and author. His screen credits include The Untitled Action Bronson Show (2017-), F#ck, That’s Delicious (2016-), and Game Over, Man! (2018). Bronson was born Ariyan Arslani on December 2, 1983, in Queens, New York. An only child, he was raised by Muslim and Jewish parents in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens. Growing up, Bronson was more interested in the culinary arts than rapping. He has a well-rounded background, thanks to his studies at the Art Institute of New York City.

CAREER
Bronson had early success as a chef prior to his music/television career. He started out as a gourmet fire-flame chef at his family’s New York City restaurant. His mastery in the kitchen was showcased in the web series Action in the Kitchen. It was a broken leg that shifted his focus towards music. Bronson was inspired by acts such as Cam’ron, Wu-Tang Clan, and Kool G Rap. His style and flow have been compared to Ghostface Killah. Starting out, Bronson performed as a member of the Outdoorsmen. His first solo mixtape, Bon Appetit ….. B!tch, arrived in early 2011. He followed up with Blue Chips (2012) with Party Supplies and Rare Chandeliers (2012) with The Alchemist. The latter featured guest verses from ScHoolboy Q, Styles P, Sean Price, and a few others. A second installment of the ‘Blue Chips’ mixtape series was released in November 2013.

Bronson’s debut album, Dr. Lecter, was released in March 2011 by Fine Fabric Delegates. It was produced exclusively by Tommy Mas. His joint album, Well-Done, with producer Statik Selektah followed closely in November 2011. It featured Lil’ Fame on the track “Time for Some”, and Nina Sky on “Cocoa Butter.” Bronson signed with Atlantic and Vice Records in August 2012. His major-label debut, Saaab Stories, which features producer Harry Fraud arrived in June 2013. Two years later, his 3rd album, Mr. Wonderful (2015), graced the airwaves. The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 with songs like “Easy Rider”, “Actin Crazy” and “Baby Blue” featuring Chance the Rapper. Bronson’s next album, Blue Chips 7000, was released in August 2017. It featured Big Body Bes and Rick Ross. His latest project, White Bronco, dropped in November 2018. It was released by Empire Distribution.

In addition to music, Bronson is known for his many appearances on television. His food documentary series ‘F#ck, That’s Delicious’ premiered on Viceland in March 2016. Three seasons have been completed as of September 2018. The show’s celebrity guests over the years include Jonah Hill, Mario Batali and Daniel Boulud. Bronson’s late-night talk show ‘The Untitled Action Bronson Show’ began airing on Viceland in October 2017. His credits also include Action Bronson Watches Ancient Aliens, Game Over, Man! (2018), and the upcoming The Irishman (2019). Bronson’s first cookbook ‘F#ck, That’s Delicious: An Annotated Guide to Eating Well’ was published in September 2017. It was co-written by Rachel Wharton.

Action Bronson is 5ft 6in tall and he’s of Albanian and Jewish descent. He has multiple tattoos and wears a full beard. The stage name “Action Bronson” was coined by combining the names of gangster William “Action” Jackson with actor Charles Bronson. He’s also known by the monikers Bam Bam, Bronsolino, and Baklava.
