Tommy Page was an American pop singer, songwriter and pianist. He rose to prominence with the 1990 hit single “I’ll Be Your Everything” produced by Sire Records. His studio albums include Tommy Page (1988), Paintings in My Mind (1990) and Ten ‘Til Midnight (2000). Page was born Thomas Alden Page on May 24, 1970 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. His parents were Frederick and Miriam. He had three siblings, Bill, Jimmy and Janet. Page grew up in West Caldwell where he attended James Caldwell High School. He continued his education at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Prior to music, Page worked as a coat-check attendant at Nell’s nightclub in New York City. He mingled with such celebrities as the Beastie Boys and Whitney Houston. Page was signed by Seymour Stein to Sire Records in 1988. His self-titled debut studio album, Tommy Page, was released later that year. It was led by the singles “A Shoulder to Cry On” and “A Zillion Kisses”. The album peaked at #45 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
Page’s sophomore album, Paintings in My Mind, was released in 1990. It featured the smash hit single “I’ll Be Your Everything” which was co-written New Kids on the Block (Jordan Knight and Danny Wood). It peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Page’s other albums include From the Heart (1991), Time (1994) and Ten ‘Till Midnight (2000). His first and only compilation album, Greatest Hits: Dedicated to You, was released in 1995. It featured a cover of John Waite’s hit single “Missing You”. Page worked briefly as an executive at Warner Bros. Records and later as a publisher for Billboard magazine. He also served as VP at Pandora and as an executive at The Village Voice.
Tommy Page died on March 3, 2017 at the age of 46. The cause of death was ruled an apparent suicide. Page had an estimated net worth of $5 million. He is survived by his significant other ‘Charlie’ and their three adopted children.
