Terry Glenn was an American former professional football player. He stood 5ft 11in tall and played the wide receiver position. His NFL career spanned 12 seasons with the New England Patriots, the Green Bay Packers, and the Dallas Cowboys. Terry Tyree Glenn was born on July 23, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio. He lost his mother at a young age. Glenn was a 1992 graduate of Brookhaven High School. He continued his studies at Ohio State University.
Glenn played college football at Ohio State University from 1993 to 1995. He joined the Ohio State Buckeyes football team as a walk-on player. He made 64 catches for 1,411 yards with 17 touchdowns for the 1995 season. His performance earned him the 1995 Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s best wide receiver. His college honors also include Consensus All-American, and First-team All-Big Ten. Glenn was selected by the New England Patriots with the 7th overall pick in the 1996 NFL draft. He signed a 6-year contract valued at $12 million. During his rookie season he recorded 90 receptions, for 1,132 yards and 6 TDs. His 90-receptions rookie record stood for 7 years until it was broken by Anquan Boldin in 2003.
Glenn made his Pro Bowl debut in 1999. He agreed to a 6-year $50 million contract extension with the Patriots in 2000. The Patriots defeated the St. Louis Rams at Super Bowl XXXVI. Glenn was traded to the Green Bay Packers prior to the 2002 season. He played 1 season and recorded 56 receptions for 817 yards. Glenn spent the last 5 years of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys. He appeared in a single game for the 2007 season due to a knee injury. He was released by the Cowboys during the off-season.
