Rae Sremmurd started out as a three man band under the moniker “Dem Outta St8 Boyz”. Their stage names at the time were “CaliBoy”, “Kid Krunk” and “Lil Pantz”. The group’s early works were inspired by fellow rapper Soulja Boy. Their first notable track “Party Animal” was released in early 2010. It garnered local attention and radio plays. Lil Pantz was replaced by Andre “King Dre” Harris aka BoBo Swae at some point in 2011. The stage name “Rae Sremmurd” became official in 2013, shortly after the group signed with Mike Will Made-It’s EarDrummers imprint.

Rae Sremmurd gained early exposure after they were featured on the song “We” from Mike Will’s 2013 mixtape, #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL. Their debut single “No Flex Zone” was released in March 2014. It peaked at #8 on the Hot Rap Songs chart and sold more than 1 million copies. The song gained further popularity following a remix featuring rappers Nicki Minaj and Pusha T. Rae Sremmurd’s second single “No Type” was released several months later in September 2014. It charted at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rae Sremmurd’s debut studio album, StemmLife, was released in January 2015 by EarDrummers and Interscope. It was supported by five singles including “Throw Sum Mo”, “This Could Be Us” and “Come Get Her”. The album debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. It featured guest vocals from Big Sean, Jace and Young Thug. Rae Sremmurd’s second album, StremmLife 2, was released in August 2016. It was led by the hit single “Black Beatles” featuring Gucci Mane. The track marked their first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album ‘StremmLife 2’ was ranked among the 50 best albums of 2016 by Billboard and Complex magazine. It has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

The hip hop duo ‘Rae Sremmurd’ has an estimated net worth of $4 million. It was formed in 2009 by brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi. Past members include Lil Panz and BoBo Swae. Rae Sremmurd founded their own record label “SremmLife Crew Records” in 2016. They’ve signed a few rappers including BoBo Swae, Impxct and Riff 3x.

The younger of the duo ‘Swae Lee’ was born Khalif Malikibnsham Brown on June 7, 1993 in Inglewood, California. He stands about 5ft 8in tall and his net worth is estimated at $2 million. His debut solo album, Swaecation, is currently in production. As a songwriter, Swae Lee was nominated for a Grammy Award for ‘song of the year’ for the single “Formation”.
