At age 21, Angelica was accepted as a postulant by the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration. She was dubbed “Sister Rita” at Saint Paul’s Shrine in Cleveland on August 15, 1944. She was admitted to the order as a novice in 1945 and given the new title ‘Sister Mary Angelica of the Annunciation’.
