He was known for catch phrases like “That’s not Right” and “We’re Big Pants People”. Meaney was born on April 23, 1956 in Valhalla, New York.
Meaney began his career as a comedian in the early 1980s. He got his breakthrough in 1986 with a comedy special on HBO. He was featured on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1987. Meaney followed up with guest appearances on programs like The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The Oprah Winfrey Show. He starred as “Buck Russell” in the 1990 sitcom, Uncle Buck. He had a bit role in the film Big (1988) with Tom Hanks and Elizabeth Perkins.
Meaney’s film credits include Plump Fiction (1998), The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue (1999), and Heterosexuals (2010). He wrote and produced ‘Wedding Vows in Vegas’ and ‘Kevin Meaney Christmas Show’. Meaney moved from Los Angeles to New York in 2002. While in NY he worked on the Broadway hit musical, Hairspray, for several years. His comedy album, That’s Not Right, was released in 2004.
