Stuart Scott was an American sports commentator and anchor of ESPN’s SportsCenter. He did regular coverage of the NBA, NFL and was known for his many catchphrases (Boo-Yah!). Scott was born on July 19, 1965 in Chicago Illinois but he grew up in North Carolina. He completed his BA degrees in speech communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was captain of his high school football team and went on to play as a wide receiver and defensive back in college.

Scott started out working as a news reporter at WPDE-TV and later WRAL-TV. He made his debut as a sports reporter in 1990 at WESH-TV. He went on to a successful career with ESPN from 1993-2015. He interviewed Michael Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals, and played one-on-one basketball with president Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign.

He was married to Kimberley Emmons from 1993-2007 and they had two daughters. Stuart Scott died at age 49 in his Connecticut home on January 4, 2015. His cause of death was cancer. He was awarded the Jimmy V Perseverance Award for his battle with cancer in 2014 prior to his death. Stuart Scott had an estimated net worth of $15 million.
