Tamron Hall is an American television journalist and national correspondent for NBC News. She currently hosts MSNBC Live and Deadline: Crime. Hall was born on September 16, 1970 in Luling, Texas. She was raised by mother, Mary, and her stepfather, Clarence, who motivated her to become a journalist. She had a sister, Renate, who was murdered in 2004. Hall studied at Temple University in Philadelphia. She graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Upon graduation, Hall worked as a reporter for KBTX-TV. She joined the KTVT staff in her home state of Texas in 1994. Three years later she landed a position at WFLD-TV in Chicago, Illinois.
