Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur, inventor and co-founder of Apple Inc. He led the microcomputer revolution and pioneered a series of technologies including the iMacs, iPhones and iPads. Jobs was born to ‘Joanne Schieble’ and ‘Abdulfattah Jandali’ on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. He was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs shortly after birth. Jobs attended Homestead High School followed by a brief run at Reed College. He was introduced to college student and future business partner, Steve Wozniak while attending high school.
Working from a garage, Jobs and Wozniak started Apple in 1976. They developed and sold Apple I and II computers and by 1980 became a publicly traded company. Jobs left Apple in 1985 and founded the company, NeXT, Inc. He became majority shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios a year later. Jobs resumed his role as Apple’s CEO in 1997 in an effort to reinvent the company. Combining a new line of products, new management and effective marketing, his dream was soon realized.
Steve Jobs died on October 5, 2011 at the age of 56. His reported cause of death was respiratory arrest stemming from a long battle with pancreatic cancer. His remains were buried in the Alta Mesa Memorial Park located in Palo Alto, California. Jobs was 6ft 0in tall and had a net worth of $10.2 billion. He married “Laurene Powell” in 1991 and they had three children, Reed, Erin and Eve. He also had a daughter, Lisa, with ‘Chrisann Brennan’.
