Keion Carpenter was a former professional football player for the Buffalo Bills and the Atlanta Falcons. He was 5ft 11in tall and played the safety position. He was also the founder and CEO of The Carpenter House, a nonprofit organization. Carpenter was born on October 31, 1977 in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Woodlawn High School followed by Virginia Tech. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Residential Property Management.
Carpenter began his football career at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He played college football at Virginia Tech under coach Frank Beamer. Carpenter was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Buffalo Bills in 1999. After three seasons with the Bills he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2002. Carpenter underwent spinal fusion surgery in 2003 to correct two fractured vertebrae. He was back on the fiend the following season. Carpenter played a total of 83 professional games, recorded 206 tackles, 14 interceptions and 1 touchdown. He officially retired in 2006.

Keion Carpenter died on December 29, 2016 at the age of 39. He reportedly fell and hit his head while on a family vacation. He spent several hours in a coma before he died. Carpenter was pronounced dead at Jackson South Community Hospital in Miami, Florida. He’s survived by his wife, Tonia, and four children, Kyle, Kennedy, Kierra and Kymiah.
