John Hurt was an English Oscar-nominated film and television actor. His acting credits include The Elephant Man, Midnight Express, Harry Potter and Alien. John Vincent Hurt was born on January 22, 1940 in Chesterfield, England. His parents were Phyllis and Arnould Hurt. He had an older brother named Anselm and an adopted sister named Monica.
