Jonathan Ross is an English television presenter, film critic and comedian. He was born on November 17, 1960 in St Pancras, London but raised in Leytonstone. He attended Norlington School for Boys followed by Leyton County High School for Boys. He completed a degree in Modern European History at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies.
Ross started out as a researcher on the chat-show ‘Loose Talk’ before making his television debut in a 1981 episode of ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’. He presented his first successful show ‘The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross’ in 1987 on Channel 4. He followed suit with ‘The Incredibly Strange Film’ a year later. He presented the annual British Comedy Awards on ITV from 1991-2008. He presented BBC’s ‘Film… (TV programme)’ from 1999-2010. Ross began presenting his flagship comedy chat show ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’ in 2001 on BBC One. His first comic book ‘Turf’, a five-issue series, was published in 2005. Ross left BBC in 2010 and his final ‘Friday Night’ chat episode aired on July 16 with featured guests like Jackie Chan and David Beckham. His new chat show ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ premiered on ITV1 on September 3, 2011.
